--------------- C U R R E N T I N F O R M A T I O N ---------------
WARNING! The following contains descriptions of upcoming episodes. If you
do not wish to learn this information, please refrain from reading this
section.
---------- STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION ----------
-----Episode synopses:
STARSHIP MINE: Picard is the only one who remains behind on the Enterprise
after a hijacking by terrorists.
LESSONS: Jean-Luc questions himself as a Starfleet Captain when he falls in
love with one of his officers, and has to order her on a very dangerous
assignment.
THE CHASE: Picard must choose between his dreams and his job when his mentor,
Galen, makes him an offer he can't refuse. (An AOL member says that this
"offer" is a treasure hunt. **) Directed by Jonathan Frakes.
FRAME OF MIND: Riker gets trapped inside a mental asylum. **
SUSPICIONS: Beverly gets involved with a scientic experiment involving
stronger shields, but she gets more than she bargained for -- a court-
martial! **
RIGHTFUL HEIR: Worf discovers Kahless the Unforgettable is still alive,
and must help him take back his throne in the Klingon Empire... even if
it means Gowron must perish.
SECOND CHANCES: No info.
-----Other information:
Later on, there will be two Riker episodes, one of which will develop his
relationship with Troi. There will also be a Beverly episode that features
Guinan. **
Frakes said that he finished directing his sixth ST:TNG episode, "The Chase".
The upcoming episode involves Picard and his archaeologist teacher, Galen,
played by an actor from NBC's "St. Elsewhere" and some Cardassians including
the first Cardassian woman. **
Rumors have it that the season finale will be a Borg episode, and will deal
with the aftermath of Hugh's "infection". One thing that has been confirmed
is that Stephen Hawking, the brilliant theorist who wrote the best-seller, "A
Brief History of Time", will be making a cameo appearance as himself. The
scene involves Data going into the holodeck to play poker with Einstein,
Newton, and Hawking.
Whoopi Goldberg has been set to play Guinan in the season finale.
The first TNG movie has been confirmed! It's currently set for Christmas
1994. Currently, nothing has been released as to the plot nor the title
of the movie.
This, of course, implies that next season, the 7th, will be TNG's last. The
fact that many actors didn't want to sign on for a 7th was undoubtedly the
reason for a 7th movie -- the leverage could be used as "If you don't sign for
the 7th, you're not in the movie". Pretty strong motivation. Most, if not
all, of the actors/actresses have already signed. **
Please see the acknowledgments section regarding information labeled **.
---------- STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE ----------
-----Episode Synopses:
THE NAGUS: Quark is appointed leader, or "nagus", of a Ferengi empire.
VORTEX: Odo journeys into the wormhole to find his origins.
PROGRESS: Bajor wants to mine a Bajoran moon for energy, but a farmer on that
moon refuses to evacuate. Kira sympathizes and takes his side. **
IF WISHES WERE HORSES: The imagination of the crew goes out of control and
comes to life. **
THE STORYTELLER: A sick Bajoran village leader, whose powers prevent a
nightly tornado storm from destroying his village, dies and transfers his
powers to O'Brien. Features a sub-plot with Jake and Nog falling in love with
a Bajoran girl. **
-----Other information:
Have you seen a regular at the bar? He's a bald alien with a big head. He's
going to get a name -- "Morn", a spinoff of Norm from Cheers. **
Apparently there is a DS9 soundtrack floating around, but it's a short
version, with only the title theme on it. Word has it that the full version
is much better -- no details on when it will be released, however. **
Lwaxana Troi will make an appearance this season, and will be trapped in an
elevator with Odo. You can imagine the rest. **
